Western Union
Western Union is a reliable international money transfer service that operates in over 200 countries worldwide.
Important information: Please note that Sanyu Babies’ Home are only able to accept cash pick-up. Western Union do not currently allow individuals to transfer money to a business account.
Transfer Guide:
- Create an account for free.
- Select receiver’s country (Uganda).
- Input the amount of money you wish to transfer. This can be input in the “Send Amount” box (this will be in your local currency) or the “Receiver Gets” box (amount will be in Ugandan Shillings).
- Select ‘Cash’ as the recipients preferred collection method. Select how you wish to pay i.e., credit/debit card or bank transfer. Select continue.
- Then add the receivers information…

*Barbara is the Director of Sanyu and is able to collect the money and deposit it in Sanyu’s bank account.
- Select your payment method and follow the on screen instructions.

Helpful Information
- The transfer cost for cash pick-up is £2.90/$1.90/€90.
- Western Union accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover Credit Cards.
- Payments can be tracked in the ‘History’ section of your account.
- Once a recipient has been paid all the details are saved for future use.

WorldRemit is a secure, fast and reliable way to transfer money internationally while avoiding the high fees of bank-to-bank transfers.

- Download the WorldRemit App and create an account for free.
- Select your country (e.g., UK/USA/Ireland) in the “You Send” box and Uganda in the “They Get” box (select Uganda with UGX next to it).
