The Sanyu farm
Since 1990, Sanyu has cultivated 25 acres of farmland in Mityana District, about an hour from our Home in Kampala. This farm provides vital food like maize, beans, cassava, and sweet potatoes for the children and staff at Sanyu. When there is a surplus, the produce is sold to generate income that supports the Home. With the help of a dedicated caretaker and local workers, we maintain the farm to ensure a steady, healthy food supply and promote self-sufficiency for our organisation.

Our Solar Panel Appeal
Our solar energy system has transformed life at Sanyu Babies’ Home — reducing costs, boosting efficiency, and protecting the environment. Thanks to this project, laundry can be done during the day, nutritious meals are prepared with ease, and warm water is readily available for bathing the children. We’ve already seen significant savings and reduced carbon emissions. Now, we are expanding this project to meet growing energy needs, install more solar panels, and introduce energy-efficient appliances — making Sanyu even more sustainable for the future.

The Sanyu Guesthouse
Just steps away from the Home, the Sanyu Guesthouse provides clean, comfortable accommodation for volunteers and guests from all over the world. With space for up to 14 people, home-cooked meals, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to stay while supporting a great cause. The Guesthouse is one of Sanyu’s main sources of income, helping us provide essential care for the children. Every guest contributes directly to our mission.

The Sanyu Craft shop
Located inside the Sanyu compound, the Craft Shop offers a variety of beautiful, locally made items — perfect souvenirs to remember your time in Uganda. Run by Evelyn, the shop also stocks practical essentials for volunteers, including colourful kitenge aprons, Sanyu t-shirts, snacks, and toiletries. Every purchase helps support the care and well-being of the children at Sanyu Babies’ Home, making your shopping truly meaningful.
